Celebrating 6 years together in Astoria
When we were planning a trip for our first anniversary five years ago, we had no idea where to go. Our honeymoon in Cabo San Lucas was hard to top. I don't remember how it happened, but somehow I ended up searching for B&B's on the Oregon Coast. I found out that half of them were located in an old town at the mouth of the Columbia River called Astoria. We've been going there ever since.
I'm glad it's turned out this way; in a society that is increasingly lacking in family traditions, this is one that has been full of wonderful memories.
This year's bed and breakfast is Clementine's, an 1888 Victorian on Exchange Street, downtown Astoria. We leave tomorrow morning, and, yes, they do have broadband.
