Great news for Anne-Marie from Dr. Smith

I haven't posted anything labeled "Recovery" for over two years! I guess that's because nothing has changed since then. That is, until last Friday.

Over the past several months Anne-Marie has been dealing with joint pain and stiffness along with some sleeplessness. We were almost sure these were side effects she was experiencing from Arimidex. When Anne-Marie went to her oncologist for her "six-month" last week, she was determined to talk to the doctor about it.

Dr. Smith listened to her story, then told her that new studies have revealed that after two years of taking Arimidex, its positive effect is at a plateau. Because of this they are allowing patients to switch to Tamoxifen for the last two years of their post-cancer plan. This is a much milder prescription and we hope it will do a lot to make life easier for Anne-Marie.

I know a lot of you don't know a whole lot about cancer and what they do to treat it, but trust me: this is huge.
