I'm afraid no matter what I want to say and no matter what I think other people want to hear, 2012 will stand as a year of infamy and hardship.

If--as so many say--life's circumstances make people feel like they've been run over by a truck then our 2012 was similar to getting hit by a meteorite.

I'm still at a loss to explain how a year that began as one of the most hopeful of my life could've contained so much grief and pain. Things we prayed for for years were shattered into millions of pieces and scattered in the wind. Some of those pieces may never be found.

But still we begin 2013 with hope. A different hope. Hopefully, a purer hope.

As for 2012? I hope to never live another minute of it. And that's a hope I can cash in on right now.

  1. My prayer for your family's 2013:

"See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland." Isaiah 43:19

    Love you guys.
