Today marks nine years since Anne-Marie's cancer diagnosis. Read my original post about that day here.
Our story is old news now with all the jarring disappointments and thrilling victories. By now, it's kinda just life. Maybe different than the average, but maybe not. It's hard to judge when you're the one living it.
Some lessons can only be learned through experience. Some hurts may never quite go away. Thank God He gave us an incredible ability to cope.
If I knew where Dr. Shawn Morgan is today, I'd call him up and thank him for gathering the courage to tell us the bad news on May 12, 2006. It's not a future any of us wanted to face, but we did and we're better for it.
