My father-in-law got married last week to a friend from back in his college days. They had a small ceremony in the Sacramento area, so we weren't there. Longtime family friend (also Ramona's relative) Darlene Kantola Royer captured the day with her camera.
Ramona and Phil met about 40 years ago (and may have even dated a little bit), but they hadn't talked for years. Recently they became reaquainted with each other by phone and letters, and--you know how these things go--they soon began visiting each other. Phil would go to Ramona's home state of Alaska to see her and then Ramona would come to see Phil here in Oregon.
Earlier this year, Phil asked Ramona to be his wife and they were married on Thursday, July 22, 2010. Congratulations to the young couple. Even though we'll miss you when you're in Alaska, we wish you all kinds of happiness.
