Just a few minutes ago, I sent our I-600A to the United States Citizen and Immigration Services (USCIS) in Yakima, Washington. This form is also known as the "Application for Advance Processing of Orphan Petition".
In a few weeks, the Department of Homeland Security will process our information and send schedule an appointment for us to go downtown Portland and get our fingerprints taken.
Even though the form itself is easy to fill out, this is a really big event in the overall process, so I celebrated with a candy bar!
