We stand by our evictions*

OK.  Here's the deal.  This week we were given four weeks to vacate the house we've been renting.

We're getting evicted.

This doesn't actually have much to do with us.  We've been paying the rent, but the guy who owned the house got foreclosed on.  So the house went to auction a week ago and the new owner wants to remodel it and "flip" it.

So, by law, he has the right to ask us to leave in 30 days.  8 of those days are gone.  So we need to find a place pretty awful quick.

I'm unemployed, so we need to find a landlord who is willing to work with someone who doesn't have a big paycheck coming in every week, but who will (and we will) faithfully pay the rent.

This whole thing makes me want to laugh and cry at the same time.  We've never been homeless before--at least not really--and we believe God has something for us in the next three weeks.  At the same time, not knowing what's going to happen to you and your family is a challenging and somewhat bewildering place to be in.

I dread having to pack and rent a U-Haul again, but there's nothing I can do about it.  It's completely out of my control.  We're glad to be here in Puyallup and to have never gone hungry or been on the street so far.  We hope to keep that streak going.

*I guess it's not really an eviction until they're physically throwing you from the house out into the street.  But you know what I mean.  They're telling us to leave, not asking.
